My thoughts exactly.
It’s too late. I’m too far gone. You can’t help me anymore. I’m sorry. So sorry.

From high above the Columbia River, Horsethief Lake and the huge cliffs on the Oregon side of the river dwarf this BN westbound lead by 2529 along with another GP35,GP30 and an RS11. I had ran out west of Wishram in hopes of getting a train I had been waiting on. That job was powered by a GP35,C425 and a pair of C636’s. Instead first up was a westbound grain empty with a pair of SD45’s. Then this job which had passed the train I was waiting for at Wishram. I never did get the train I was really after at this spot as it was getting late in the evening and clouds were moving in from the west. After this shot I beat a hasty retreat east and was able to shoot the westbound I was waiting for just as the sun was about to duck behind the clouds near Celio Bridge. BN C424 4241 leads three SD45’s on what I would guess is WP track in Northern California. No Information on slide as far as location or photographer. Slide has been in my collection for years. Getting a train on the Montreal River bridge at mile 92 on the former ACR can be a challenge. The road in from the Trans Canada was(and probably still is)owned by Great Lakes Hydro and is normally gated and locked. Sometimes permission could be attained from the power company, or if you were in the right place at the right time you may have been able to catch a ride in with either a power company employee or a railroad MOW worker. The only other access was to ride the train up from Sault Ste. Marie get off at the bridge and then catch the southbound going back. In any case getting a freight on the bridge was normally a real chore as they mainly were a nocturnal operation in this area. On this bright May day freight 11 had derailed the last car of the train near Frater as it made its way north. The crew was instructed to leave the derailed car behind and it would be retrieved first thing in the morning. Southbound freight 10 was tasked with helping the MOW crews in re-railing the car. This put freight number 10 over the bridge in daylight with of all things an F45 on the point. The light was poor as it was to early in the day but how could you resist taking the picture. WC 6651,6631,6592 after helping re-rail the car at Frater are now back on the roll south heading 51 cars of train 10 to Sault Ste. Marie. It’s late May but note the trees have yet to leaf out this far north. (via RailPictures.Net Photo: WC 6651 Wisconsin Central EMD F45 at Montreal River Falls, Ontario, Canada by Chuck Schwesinger)
